Taylor Swift is making her return to the stage following a thwarted terror attack that led to the cancellation of all three of her “Eras Tour” concert stops in Austria last week.
She will commence the first of five shows at London’s Wembley Stadium on Thursday.
Security measures at the venue, which is expected to host around 90,000 fans each night, have been increased for the safety of attendees.
From Thursday onwards, individuals will not be allowed to gather outside Wembley during Swift’s performances. Only ticket-holders will have access to the venue, with authorities ensuring clear exits and entrances. Previously, fans without tickets used to hold their own gatherings outside the venue.
These new restrictions come in the wake of the arrest of three teenagers with ISIS affiliations in connection to a planned attack at Swift’s shows in Vienna.
The Metropolitan Police of London has stated that there is no evidence suggesting that the events in Vienna will impact Swift’s London shows, although they are remaining vigilant for any new developments.
Diana Johnson, the UK’s Minister of State for Crime, Policing, and Fire, has affirmed that security services are collaborating with their Austrian counterparts and other national security agencies to ensure public safety.

Swift has yet to address the cancellation of her Vienna tour dates scheduled for August 8, 9, and 10 due to the scare.
The main suspect, a 19-year-old Austrian citizen, along with a 17-year-old, were apprehended last Tuesday. The 19-year-old possessed bomb-making materials at home, while the 17-year-old had secured employment at Ernst Happel Stadium where Swift’s concerts were to be held.
The 19-year-old confessed to a plan to cause harm outside the concert venue. An 18-year-old was also arrested for alleged ties to the main suspect.
