BILLINGS — This Friday, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson headlined a rally at the Billings airport, joined by other Republicans.
Less than 90 days until the election, Montana Republicans are bringing in major figures. Speaker Johnson is the third representative that Rep. Ryan Zinke has brought to the state recently, along with Reps. Jim Jordan and Steve Scalise.
“It’s great to have these leaders in Montana as our state plays a significant role in this election,” said Zinke. Governor Greg Gianforte, Auditor Troy Downing, and Attorney General Austin Knudsen also made appearances at the rally and were expected at a private fundraiser later.
The speeches resonated with the enthusiastic audience, including attendee Randy Nelson who expressed support for veteran leadership in politics.
In response, Democrat Ryan Busse, who is challenging Gianforte, highlighted voter frustrations and questioned the choice to bring Johnson to Montana.
Attendees at the rally seemed firm in their decision on who to vote for.
“We’re feeling strong,” said Charlene Nelson.
