Daniel Shepard: Montana’s ability to produce Olympians per capita is noteworthy, even if it disrupted my NASCAR viewing for a while.
Briar Napier: Berkoff’s performances in swimming, one of the toughest Olympic events, were particularly impressive.
3. What are your thoughts on the Associated Press preseason college football poll?
John Letasky: Georgia being ranked No. 1 is expected, but I haven’t delved too deeply into the poll this year. I’m hopeful that some of my favorite teams will climb up the rankings by the end of the season.
Lindsay Rossmiller: I don’t pay much attention to preseason rankings as they don’t influence the actual outcomes. I did hear that the Ducks are ranked in the top three.
Jeff Welsch: I’m taking a stand against major college football until issues like Michigan’s alleged cheating are addressed.
Daniel Shepard: I’m more interested in the NAIA poll, where Frontier Conference teams are likely to feature prominently.
