MISSOULA, Mont. – The second annual Montana Herbal Festival began today in a new location, the Rocky Mountain Gardens, attracting dozens of attendees from across Western Montana. This year’s festival offers a variety of new courses and activities for herbal enthusiasts.
Elaine Sheff, President of the Board of the Montana Herbal Festival, said, “There’s all kinds of wonderful classes happening ranging from plant ID to different medicine-making techniques to cooking with herbs.”
Festival-goers can also enjoy a mocktail hour, live music, and an herbal marketplace where local businesses and course teachers showcase their herbal-based products.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for people who are interested in natural remedies, medicinal plants, holistic health care, or native plants to get together and find out more about all of those things and also connect with like-minded people,” Sheff said.
Ten percent of the proceeds from the festival will support local gardens. On Sunday, the event will feature three intensive courses for those wanting to dive deeper into the herbal lifestyle.
“We have an Herbs for Menopause class. We have a Harm Reduction class which is on Zoom, so that can be taken from anywhere, even if you’re not local. And we also have a Plant ID class happening tomorrow and those are all three-hour intensives,” Sheff said.
The Montana Herbal Festival in Missoula promises to be an enriching experience for anyone eager to learn more about herbal living and connect with a community of herbal enthusiasts.
