Louisville Cardinals wide receiver Caullin Lacy sustained a collarbone injury and will be sidelined for six to eight weeks, according to the school’s announcement on Saturday. Lacy, who got injured during the final scrimmage of fall camp, joined Louisville in December via the transfer portal after playing four years at South Alabama. He was the top receiver for the Jaguars last season with 91 catches for 1,316 yards and seven touchdowns, totaling 207 receptions for 2,517 yards and 13 touchdowns during his time at South Alabama. Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 190 pounds, Lacy was expected to step into the role left by Jamari Thrash, who was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in April after leading the Cardinals with 63 catches for 858 yards last season. Louisville, coming off a 10-win season, will kick off the new season at home against Austin Peay on August 31. –Field Level Media
