Louisville Cardinals wide receiver Caullin Lacy has suffered a broken collarbone and will be sidelined for six to eight weeks, as announced by the school on Saturday. Lacy sustained the injury during the final scrimmage of fall camp. He joined Louisville last December through the transfer portal, having previously spent four years at South Alabama. Lacy was a standout performer for the Jaguars, leading the team with 91 catches for 1,316 yards and seven touchdowns in the previous season. Throughout his time at South Alabama, he amassed 207 receptions for 2,517 yards and 13 touchdowns. Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 190 pounds, Lacy was expected to step up in the absence of Jamari Thrash, who was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round earlier in the year after leading the Cardinals in receptions and yards last season. Louisville is set to kick off their season at home against Austin Peay on August 31. –Field Level Media
