Zach Braff reminisces about Scrubs, mentioning that the cast felt drained by the end of the nine-season run when the show transitioned from NBC to ABC.
In a recent episode of Michael Rosenbaum‘s Inside of You podcast, Braff expressed his fondness for certain aspects of working on the medical comedy. He stated, “I miss laughing every day. Belly laughing every day was the job.”
However, the demanding production schedule eventually took its toll. Braff reflected, “By the time nine years were over, we were sort of all exhausted by it, just the hours of it. I felt like, at the time, we were starting to repeat jokes. Everyone was pretty fried.”
He elaborated, “This was back in the day where we would do insane hours that people don’t even do anymore. We didn’t really have much of a life outside of it. So we were just kind of fried, you know?”
