Bozeman and Montana State University will play a significant role in the development of the tech hub, as there are numerous photonics companies in the area. However, the leadership of the tech hub will come from Accelerate Montana, located on the University of Montana campus in Missoula.
O’Hair acknowledged the housing issue as the “elephant in the room” when discussing the growth of companies and jobs in Montana. He emphasized the importance of diversifying Montana’s economy and creating new opportunities for future generations.
Although Montana is currently facing some growing pains due to its popularity, O’Hair expressed confidence in overcoming these challenges gradually. He highlighted the positive aspect of Montana’s growth and the opportunities it presents.
O’Hair mentioned the desire of parents for their children to stay in Montana and the potential for tech to diversify the economy and provide more opportunities for the youth.
University of Montana president Seth Bodnar also expressed excitement about the potential impact of the tech hub on the region and emphasized its transformative effect on the state.
