Former President Donald Trump recently shared a series of AI-generated photos that depict a fake presidential endorsement from Taylor Swift. The images were posted on Truth Social on Sunday afternoon.
One of the photos shows Swift dressed as Uncle Sam with the words “Taylor wants YOU to VOTE for DONALD TRUMP.” Trump captioned the photos with “I accept!”
Other images in the post feature supposed Taylor Swift fans wearing shirts that say “Swifties for Trump,” falsely suggesting that Swifties are switching their support to Trump after a foiled terror plot in Austria.
Swift has not officially endorsed any candidate for the 2024 election, but she did publicly support Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the 2020 election.
In the past, Swift has spoken out against Trump on social media platforms like Twitter, criticizing his handling of issues like racism and white supremacy.
Trump has also criticized the use of AI in creating fake images, making false claims about his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, using fake crowd images.
A poll conducted earlier this year showed that a majority of Americans view fake news as a problem in the current presidential election.
