It has been two years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, effectively ending the constitutional right to abortion that women had for nearly 50 years.

Gloria Allred, a renowned women’s rights attorney, spoke to Scripps News on Tuesday evening from the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. She explained her support for Harris as the right candidate to defeat Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
“If the vice president is elected, Kamala Harris has pledged — with a majority in the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate — to enact legislation that would uphold Roe v. Wade,” Allred stated. “This would mean re-establishing its legality and enacting it as a law. I am committed to supporting her candidacy for president of the United States.”
