Disappointment likely swept over Beyoncé fans when the singer failed to make an appearance on the final night of the Democratic National Convention Thursday.
Rumors had circulated on the internet that Beyoncé would be a surprise guest at the DNC on Thursday, but it was ultimately just speculation.
A Beyoncé fan page posted late Thursday claiming, “she’s here,” along with a video showing a motorcade of black SUVs that they believed belonged to Beyoncé and her entourage.

Many had anticipated Beyoncé performing her song “Freedom,” which has become an anthem for the Harris-Walz campaign.
Some made light of the hype surrounding Beyoncé’s absence, suggesting that maybe singer James Taylor was seeking revenge for being excluded from Monday’s lineup.
One user joked on X, “imagine showing up for a Beyoncé concert and seeing Leon Panetta.”
There were accusations that the DNC had purposely fueled the rumors to attract more viewers to the convention.
However, a representative for the Grammy Award-winning star clarified to the Hollywood Reporter that she was never scheduled to appear.
TMZ admitted their mistake in the Beyoncé frenzy, stating on X, “to quote the great Beyoncé: we gotta lay our cards down, down, down. We got this one wrong.”
It could be said that Beyoncé was there in spirit as a recording of “Freedom” played during the balloon drop at the end of the night, although this may provide little solace to her disappointed fans.
