Project 2025 is not, repeat not, farmer friendly. In multiple places Project 2025 attacks agriculture producers, accusing farmers of abusing subsidies, credits, and crop insurance. Project 2025 targets all of these programs. If not dispensing with the ARC and PLC programs outright, it advocates that farmers pay higher crop insurance premiums. Project 2025 proponents say that crop insurance should not be the responsibility of the taxpayers who, by the way, benefit from low food costs.
Meanwhile, these same taxpayers are stuck with paying for welfare for corporations. Thus Project 2025, which was supported by Donald Trump and J.D. Vance as well as their loyal followers, attacks farmers who operate on a very slim profit margin and cannot afford to lose farm programs. It is time to look at the agricultural bottom line and vote for candidates like Jon Tester who understand farmers and the policies that make farming sustainable.
