The Lewis and Clark County Growth Policy and Future Land Use Map are now available for public review, and feedback from residents is encouraged.
This draft is the result of public engagement efforts, including surveys, open houses, and community meetings conducted earlier this year.
The Growth Policy is a strategic plan that outlines the county’s vision and priorities, guiding land use policy, development, and county initiatives. The Future Land Use Map visually represents this vision by specifying how different areas in the County will be utilized.
The update to the Growth Policy includes:
â– Housing development and proposed incentives.
â– Future land use patterns, particularly around the Helena Valley.
â– Strategies for agricultural preservation.
â– Planning for wildfire and flood preparedness.
â– Environmental preservation to protect natural resources and wildlife habitats.
The policies and strategies outlined in the update are tailored to different regions of the county, each with its own vision for growth and development.
The community will have the opportunity to engage further through sessions and open houses to discuss the future of the county. Sessions will be held in Lincoln, Augusta, and the Helena Valley.
Residents are encouraged to attend these events to learn more and provide input. For more information, visit www.LCCGrowthPolicyUpdate.com.
