Tesla has announced a recall for its Cybertruck to address issues with trim pieces and windshield wipers, making it the fourth time the pickup has been recalled since its launch late last year.
Records released on Tuesday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reveal that more than 22,000 trucks in the U.S. are affected by the new recalls.
Cybertrucks manufactured between Nov. 13, 2023, and June 6, 2024, may encounter problems with the front windshield wiper motor due to “electrical overstress” on the gate driver component, as stated by the company.

The issue was initially identified by Tesla Service personnel in February.
In the meantime, a section of the trunk bed trim on Cybertrucks produced from Nov. 13, 2023, to May 26, 2024, may not have been correctly installed and could detach, as indicated in NHTSA documents.
Tesla has committed to replacing the wiper motor and trim pieces on impacted vehicles at no expense. Owners will receive notification by mail on Aug. 18.
Prior recalls for the Cybertrucks included a defective accelerator pedal affecting around 4,000 vehicles, and a concern regarding the warning light instrument panel font size on nearly all trucks sold in the U.S., heightening the risk of accidents.
