BILLINGS — Christina Aragon has an impressive running background. She won 12 Montana high school state titles while running at Billings Senior and was a nine-time All-American at Stanford.
After graduating from Stanford in 2022 with a degree in human biology, Aragon is now running professionally for Nike with the Bowerman Track Club in Eugene, Oregon.
“I have a very talented group of teammates. It’s really fun because I feel challenged every day in practice, and I have a lot of people to learn from,” Aragon told MTN Sports. “Eugene is a runner-friendly town with nice trails and easy access, similar to Billings, which has made the transition comfortable for me.”
Aragon recently trained in Park City, Utah, ahead of this week’s U.S. Olympic Team Track and Field Trials, where she will compete in the 1,500-meter run. She has grown immensely since her first Trials in 2016 after high school graduation.
“I remember feeling intimidated in my first Trials, but now I look forward to executing my best race,” Aragon said.
If Aragon qualifies for the 2024 Paris Olympics, she plans to explore the city as a tourist while also focusing on her performance.
“Representing the USA is the top priority, but I would love to visit iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and The Louvre,” Aragon added.
Christina’s older sister Danielle is also competing in the 1,500-meter run this year. The first round is on Thursday evening, with the semifinal on Friday, and the final on Sunday.
