President Biden and other Democrats entered the post-debate day with full force, aiming to persuade the American people that he remains the top contender against Donald Trump in November.
The president put on a strong display at a Raleigh, North Carolina rally, acknowledging to the crowd that he may not “debate as well as” he once did, but asserting that he knows “how to do this job.”
“I know how to get things done,” stated the president.
The energized crowd at the rally even chanted “four more years” at one point.
The rally was brief, lasting about 18 minutes, as observers there remarked.
Former President Barack Obama took to social media on Friday to express that “Bad debate nights happen,” defending the president and labeling his opponent — former President Trump — as someone who “lies through his teeth.”
Vice President Kamala Harris appeared on CNN with Anderson Cooper after the debate on Thursday night, stating, “I’m not going to dwell on the last 90 minutes when I’ve witnessed the past three years of performance.”
She questioned, “Do we want to focus on what November holds? Do we want to steer towards strengthening America’s economy?”
The Biden campaign emphasized that they are not fixated on the theatrical aspects of the debate, and that the president’s efforts will continue at full speed from the North Carolina rally to a series of other states for fundraising events.
