President Biden and other Democrats came out full force the day after the debate, determined to convince the American people that he is still the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump in November.
The president made a strong appearance at a rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he humbly admitted to the crowd that he may not debate as well as he used to, but he assured them that he knows how to do the job.
“I know how to get things done,” the president declared, receiving enthusiastic support from the high-energy crowd, who at one point chanted “four more years.”
The rally was relatively brief, lasting about 18 minutes, as observers noted.
Former President Barack Obama took to social media on Friday to reassure supporters that “Bad debate nights happen,” defending President Biden and criticizing his opponent for being dishonest.
Vice President Kamala Harris also made an appearance on CNN after the debate, emphasizing that she doesn’t want to dwell on the past 90 minutes, but rather focus on the future and strengthening America’s economy.
The Biden campaign stated that they are not fixated on the theatrical aspects of the debate, and are instead channeling their efforts into full-speed campaigning, starting with the rally in North Carolina and continuing with a series of fundraising events in other states.
