HELENA — Will Lyng thought about what he would eat after the game, holding the game ball in his hand, basking in the sun with a smile on his face.
If he chooses Shellie’s, the local eatery, it’s likely a breakfast burrito for the Helena Capital graduate and Beloit College commit. Perhaps he would even consider getting ham, bacon, and sausage in his meal to really savor the moment.
Just like the ingredients in his meal, Lyng’s fastball, slider, and two-seamer worked harmoniously to secure a no-hit victory over the Laurel Dodgers in the 9-1 five-inning Keith Sell Tournament Championship Game on Sunday.
Helena took home its fourth consecutive tournament win and its ninth overall in the 29-year history of the event dedicated to honoring the program’s former coach, general manager, and all-around handyman.

“That was a fun one,” Lyng remarked, planning to add the game ball to his collection in the Senators locker.
Lyng retired the last 13 batters he faced, overcoming an early walk and run-scoring error to pitch his second five-inning no-hitter of the season. This was his first at Kindrick Legion Field.
