Jonathan Jackson is set to make a comeback as Lucky Spencer on General Hospital after almost ten years. He is keen on exploring the relationship between Lucky and Laura Spencer (Genie Francis). Jackson shared how Francis played a crucial role in his return to Port Charles.
During a recent episode of The Daily Drama, fellow General Hospital star Steve Burton mentioned, “I know you have a big cheerleader in Genie Francis.” Burton expressed his excitement as a fan to see Jackson and Francis reunite after so many years. Jackson acknowledged the importance of this reunion.
When asked if Francis’ current role on General Hospital influenced his decision to return, Jackson admitted, “Honestly, that played a huge part for me.”
Jackson first appeared on GH in 1993 at the age of 11 as the son of Francis and Anthony Geary’s characters. After leaving the show in 1999, he returned in 2009 for a two-year stint. The former Nashville star fondly recalled his return in 2010 and the opportunity to work with Geary again.
Reflecting on his upcoming storyline with Francis, Jackson shared, “Lucky and Laura haven’t had a substantial story together since I was a teenager. It’s surreal.” Now, they will have the chance to delve into their characters’ relationship.
While Jackson’s return date on General Hospital has not been announced, he is expected to have a lengthy stay on the show.
