BILLINGS — The active, unstable weather pattern persisted in Montana on Tuesday with scattered showers and thunderstorms across many parts of the area. Most of the clouds and showers are expected to dissipate after sunset on Tuesday night, with a few lingering showers possible in southern Montana and northern Wyoming on Wednesday morning.
Weather conditions will intensify in the afternoon and evening on Wednesday as an area of low pressure and its associated cold front move over the northern Rockies. While severe weather is not anticipated, strong thunderstorms could occur, so it is advisable to monitor the sky. Showers and thunderstorms are also forecasted for the Fourth of July, tapering off by evening.
Conditions will turn warmer and calmer on Friday as a ridge of high pressure begins to establish over the Rockies. Over the weekend, there may be a slight chance of showers on Saturday as the ridge contends with additional small disturbances passing over Montana and Wyoming. Sunday will see fewer clouds, with clearer skies and warmer temperatures expected early next week.
