Killer Mike, after winning album of the year at the BET Awards 2024, has released a new single titled “Humble Me” addressing his arrest at the Grammy Awards. The single is the first glimpse of an upcoming project that is said to be an epilogue to his previous album, “Michael.”
“Humble Me” was released on the same night as Killer Mike’s attendance at the BET Awards at Peacock Theatre, where he was previously arrested earlier in the year. Following his wins in three major rap categories at the Grammys in February, Killer Mike was taken into custody after a speech.
The arrest was due to a misdemeanor battery charge, with Killer Mike later revealing that it stemmed from an altercation with a security guard.
In a statement, Killer Mike expressed his resilience by saying, “I was in the studio the very next day. I’m as inspired as ever and I’m just following the music at this point.”
