Officials confirmed that a law enforcement officer sustained injuries in a shooting incident at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.
Rangers were called to respond to a report of an individual with a firearm making threats in the Canyon Village area.
The Park Service reported that during the confrontation, gunfire was exchanged between rangers and the suspect.
Tragically, the suspect passed away, and one of the rangers was transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The area near the Canyon Lodge complex has been cordoned off for the ongoing investigation.
The FBI is actively involved in assisting with the investigation, as confirmed by Scripps News.
Visitors have been reassured that there is no ongoing threat in the park.
