It happened 2 months ago, when Clancy’s Renae Parker, 19, captured the 24th annual PPLT Don’t Fence Me In Trail Run’s 30K female championship. Parker, a 2023 Jefferson High grad, finished ahead of 117 other women and placed 10th overall (including men), traversing the South Hills course in 2 hours, 42 minutes, 36 seconds.
Parker was a State Class B cross country and track (3200) champion, and placed runner-up in both prep cross country and the 2022 Governors Cup half-marathon.
Emmiliese von Avis (Bozeman), 33, placed runner-up at the DFMITR in May, 8 minutes out of first in 2:50.38. Three other local area competitors finished in the top-10 (7th-9th), consisting of Hannah Riedl, 32, with a time of 3:10:38; seniors champ Laura (Morin) Holien, 41, at 3:11:00; and Brooke Kupcho, 33, in 3:11:02.
