A Miles City brewery is hosting a summer fundraiser to raise money for local gardens.
The fundraiser, Brews For Blooms, is organized by Otium Brewery. One dollar from every Drowning Mountains IPA pint sold this summer will be donated to a community garden.
“Living in a concrete environment is not ideal for thriving,” said Hannah Strong, co-owner of Otium Brewery, explaining her motivation for the fundraiser. “Green spaces are crucial for me.”
Strong came up with the idea while brainstorming monthly themes for the brewery. They focus on ‘True, Good, and Beautiful’ categories each month, with activities like lectures and featuring local artists.
For the ‘good’ category, they decided to give back to the community. A portion of pint sales will be donated to a different local garden each month over the summer.
The first garden recipient in July is located at The Ruby, a local coffee kiosk that transformed a dirt field into a colorful garden and outdoor space with a playground set.
Support from the Miles City community, including Otium Brewery, has helped these gardens thrive and bloom. It’s a collaborative effort that everyone is proud of.
The unity and support in Miles City are what make initiatives like this possible, bringing the community together through events and shared spaces like the local gardens.
