Actor Alec Baldwin appeared in a Santa Fe, New Mexico, courtroom on Friday morning for his ongoing manslaughter trial.
The trial revolves around the 2021 shooting incident on the set of the movie “Rust,” where Baldwin allegedly fired a live round that resulted in the death of the film’s director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, and injuries to director/writer Joel Souza.

It was confirmed by Court TV that “Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is scheduled to testify on Friday. Gutierrez-Reed was previously convicted of involuntary manslaughter in March in connection with Hutchins’ death and was given an 18-month prison sentence.
While it is uncertain who will be called to testify, Gutierrez-Reed’s attorney, Jason Bowles, mentioned that she will be present at the courthouse. Bowles also stated that Gutierrez-Reed may plead the Fifth Amendment as per the judge’s ruling.

Recently, the State’s request for Gutierrez-Reed to testify about Baldwin’s actions on set was denied by Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer. Special Prosecutor Kari Morrissey argued that this request is unrelated to Gutierrez-Reed’s criminal conduct but rather focuses on Baldwin’s involvement.
Morrissey also sought approval from the court to hold Gutierrez-Reed in contempt and potentially extend her jail time if she refuses to answer the State’s questions.
