A longstanding photography school in Missoula, which attracts students from around the globe, has announced its closure.
Rocky Mountain School of Photography, owned and operated by Neil and Jeanne Chaput de Saintonge and their family along with many staff members, is currently situated at 301 Expressway and previously had offices downtown.
“After 35 years of running RMSP, we have made the tough choice to shut down our school,” the company shared on social media. “We’ve faced various challenges over the years, but with a positive mindset, exceptional staff and instructors, and a blend of luck and hard work, we have managed to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of technology and education.” However, this time marks a different scenario, as mentioned in the post. “This time, the enrollment numbers for our in-person programs are no longer sustainable,” the post stated. “So here we are. We want to express our gratitude to all of you who have been a part of RMSP, whether you discovered us decades ago or just recently. It has been a privilege for us to be entrusted with your education. Throughout our 35 years of teaching, we have encountered numerous wonderful, talented, and successful students, and we genuinely wish the best for each one of you.”
