Ellen DeGeneres has announced that she will be retiring from entertainment after her upcoming Netflix special.
The former talk-show host made the revelation during her “Ellen’s Last Stand…Up Tour” show in Santa Rosa, California, telling the audience that this will be her final appearance. She shared, “After my Netflix special, I’m done.”
Ellen, who recently turned 66, also touched upon the end of her long-running program “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which faced controversy in 2020 due to allegations of toxic behavior by some executives.
Despite the challenges she has faced, Ellen expressed gratitude to her fans for their support and joked about being kicked out of show business for being “mean.” She emphasized, “I am many things, but I am not mean.”
