Reports indicate that the Washington Commanders have brought on Scott Fitterer, former general manager of the Carolina Panthers, to join their front office. Fitterer, 50, will take on the role of “personnel executive” under general manager Adam Peters. Fitterer previously worked with the Seattle Seahawks from 2001-20, eventually reaching the position of vice president of football operations before transitioning to the GM role with the Panthers in 2021. Following a 14-37 record during his time with Carolina, Fitterer was dismissed in January, a tenure marked by the firing of head coaches Matt Rhule and Frank Reich within a year. Peters, who came to the Commanders from the San Francisco 49ers in January, looks to make strides with the team after their 4-13 season and the selection of Jayden Daniels as the No. 2 overall draft pick in April, a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback. –Field Level Media
