HELENA — Eli Peterson threw 3.2 hitless innings, escaped a bases loaded jam in the fifth, and earned his eighth win in a 5-1 Helena Senators victory over Bozeman on Tuesday.
Peterson struck out three of the first five batters he faced, showcasing a strong breaking ball, and gave up four hits and three walks over six innings.
A fantastic sliding catch by Aaron Fuzesy in right field followed by a throw to second base eliminated a lead-off walk in the fourth inning before Cole Smith of Bozeman got the Bucks’ first hit.
In the next inning, holding a 4-0 lead, Peterson struck out Quinn Pershing and got Smith to fly out to get out of trouble.
Perlinski contributed with an RBI single, part of his two-RBI performance, along with Colt Tietje who also had two hits in the game.
Brayden Beatty got on base three times, had two RBIs, and scored twice on Tuesday.

Connor Devine, who was 15 for his last 30 at-bats, went 1-for-3. Bohden Bahnmiller also had a hit and scored a run.
Helena (35-12, 13-2 in conference) is on a 15-game winning streak heading into Wednesday’s doubleheader against Bozeman.
During the break between games, the Senators will pay tribute to the late umpire Jim Knight.
The third annual Jim Knight Memorial Award will be presented to a Senators player who embodies qualities such as integrity, sportsmanship, character, and a love for baseball, as Jim did.
Jim Knight’s son and current MLB umpire Brian Knight will be presenting the award.
Past recipients of the award include Tyler Tenney and Walker Bennett.
Game 1 is set to start at 5 p.m at Kindrick Legion Field.
