Lara Trump, co-chair of the Republican National Convention, delivered the final speech on the second day of the RNC, where she reflected on the assassination attempt against Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania last Saturday.
“Last Saturday served as a stark reminder that as Americans, we must remember that there is more that unites us than divides us. We all share the common desire for this country to achieve greatness, even if we may not always agree on the method to achieve it.”
Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of Donald Trump, assumed the role of co-chair of the RNC alongside North Carolina GOP leader Michael Watley in March of 2024, taking over from former RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel following a strained relationship with Trump.
Since then, Lara Trump has been instrumental in pioneering new fundraising efforts for Trump’s campaign and aligning the GOP more closely with the Trump campaign.
“My top priority is ensuring that Donald Trump serves as the 47th president,” she expressed to The Associated Press in May.

During her speech on Tuesday, she underscored the accomplishments of the first Trump administration in areas such as border security, employment, energy security, and foreign policy.
“The progress made during Donald Trump’s presidency cannot be ignored,” she remarked.
She addressed the opposition’s fears of a potential second Trump term as something to be dreaded.
“You don’t need to speculate about what it could be like,” she stated. “You simply need to recall what it was like.”
“Tonight, I speak not as the RNC co-chair or the candidate’s daughter-in-law. Tonight, I speak as a mother and a citizen of this nation,” she declared to the convention attendees. “For those of you who have never supported Donald Trump, I understand the narrative spun by the media and his political adversaries. Believe me, I have witnessed and heard it all. However, I have also witnessed the truth. I am honored to stand by Donald Trump, campaign for him, vote for him, and raise his grandchildren. He will take the necessary actions to defend you, your family, and this country.”
