Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake is vying for the seat currently held by Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who announced earlier this year that she will not seek reelection.
During her speech at the Republican National Convention this week, Lake addressed various topics, with her strong disapproval of the media once again taking center stage as a top campaign issue on the national platform.

“I don’t welcome everyone in this meeting, in this room,” she declared on the RNC stage, gesturing towards the press boxes at Fiserv Forum. “The individuals up in the fake news, frankly you guys up there in the fake news have worn out your welcome.”
Her remarks garnered cheers from the crowd, with boos directed at the press ringing out in response.
In her criticism of the media, Lake referenced former President Donald Trump and accused the U.S. press of unfairly portraying him in a negative light.

Lake also alleged that U.S. authorities tampered with evidence and fabricated evidence against individuals implicated in crimes related to the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
The Senate candidate criticized the Biden administration for prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion policies over expertise in hiring practices, and blamed the administration for contributing to the negative aspects of the U.S. economy. She also suggested a correlation between increasing rent prices and the influx of migrants at the southern U.S. border.
When asked about President Joe Biden’s recent COVID-19 diagnosis, Lake responded, “Well I hope he’s feeling better soon.”
