BILLINGS — Wednesday brought hazy, smoky sunshine to much of Montana and Wyoming, along with isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Overnight, we can expect clouds to decrease and a quiet start on Thursday with mild overnight lows that will be warmer than usual.
Thursday will see a small Pacific disturbance moving over the strong high pressure ridge dominating our weather pattern, bringing a higher chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening for more areas. However, many areas will still be dry and hot, so it’s important to keep an eye on the sky!
The ridge will strengthen from Friday through the middle of next week, with plenty of sunshine most days and temperatures hotter than normal. Saturday will bring more clouds as monsoonal moisture moves in, increasing the chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly over the mountains.
