Missoula’s new urban camping law takes effect Thursday, creating a new system that limits where and when people can camp in the city. But many of the policies remain unfinished after more than a month of preparation.
The city will start to enforce parts of the law, including the widespread camping restrictions from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. However, the city’s vehicle registration and maps for where people can camp have not been completed, according to city Communications Director Ginny Merriam.
While some maps should be released this week, there was no timeline available for the city’s vehicle registration system for people living in their vehicles.
