For Jesse Vint, woodworking isn’t a hobby. It’s everything.
“My whole life is wood,” the artist said, while standing in his studio out on the far west end of Billings. The place is large — two storage garages — but immaculate, stuffed full of tools of all sizes, from massive saws that could probably halve a tree to small tools used for minute detailing. And of course, wood is everywhere. It’s stacked in corners, propped up for in-process creations, and most of the furniture and storage receptacles are made of it. The earthy, sweet smell of wood is omnipresent.
