You’ve got no excuse not to yee-haw your hee-haw’d heart out next weekend, because the downtown Billings country music festival is now free, with no admission charge.
Tickets for Yee-Haw Hee-Haw, which is bringing music and comedy to Montana Avenue on Aug. 2-3, were $25. But after an anonymous sponsor read about the show in last week’s Billings Gazette, general admission will be free.
The Goodridge family settled on Yee-Haw Hee-Haw, a smaller event than Magic City Blues. They’ve billed it as Billings’ “party of the summer.”
According to an announcement made on the event’s Facebook page, the sponsors were spurred on by the return of a music festival to downtown Billings, replacing Magic City Blues, which moved to MetraPark in 2021, and won’t be held in 2024. Yee-Haw Hee-Haw is organized and presented by Tim and Pam Goodridge, the family who put on Magic City Blues for decades.
