Vice President Kamala Harris announced on Saturday that she has officially signed documents to declare her candidacy for president of the United States.
In a post on X, which included an image of the vice president signing forms at a desk, Harris referred to her campaign as a “people-powered campaign.”

According to DNCC rules, “candidates for nomination” had until 6 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 27, to file with the Convention’s Secretary before the deadline passed.
Harris hosted her first fundraiser since becoming the likely Democratic nominee for president in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on Saturday, aiming to raise over $1.4 million, her campaign reported.
