If you’ve been noticing an abundance of appearances by Glen Powell lately, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. And get ready to hear more from him soon.
The Hit Man and Twisters star will be making a guest appearance in the upcoming season of Family Guy for its Hulu-exclusive Halloween episode. He will be portraying a character named Patrick McCloskey, who is known as “the reigning champion in Quahog’s annual Pumpkin Contest.”
The episode’s synopsis reads: “Peter and his friends set out to dethrone the reigning champion (Glen Powell) in Quahog’s annual Pumpkin Contest by any means necessary.”
This special episode will also feature another notable guest star: Derek Jacobi will appear as Rupert, Stewie’s beloved teddy bear. A Christmas-themed special episode is also on the horizon for later in the year, but further details have not yet been disclosed.
Fox has not yet confirmed a release date for Season 23, but they did tease some of what’s to come when the beloved animated series returns to Sunday nights on the network: “In Season 23, Peter accidentally reveals his lack of skill in throwing a ball, Meg starts dating the son of the giant chicken, and Chris misplaces his earring in a Lord of the Rings-inspired adventure. Additionally, Stewie discovers that his stuffed bear Rupert was manufactured in China and sets out on a mission to bring him back there to meet his family. The season will also include a parody of The White Lotus, as the Griffin family takes a vacation at a luxury resort, where Stewie fears that his affluent new acquaintances are plotting to sacrifice him in a volcano.
A teaser video for the upcoming season (found above) suggests that the new episodes will also parody Powell’s latest major film, Top Gun: Maverick,
