Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker YaYa Diaby suffered a left ankle injury during practice and had to be carted off the field on Thursday. Head coach Todd Bowles stated, “We’ll see what the prognosis is as we go forward and take some more tests. It’s football. We’ll wait for the results to come in. Right now, we’re hopeful. So, we’ll wait and see before we say all is lost right now, but he’s having a great camp. He’s a great player. Just wish the best for him.” Diaby, a third-round draft pick in 2023, had an impressive rookie season with 7.5 sacks, 38 tackles, and two fumble recoveries in 17 games (seven starts). He is set to be a starter alongside veteran Lavonte David at outside linebacker for the Bucs as they prepare to open the preseason on Aug. 10 at Cincinnati. –Field Level Media
