BOZEMAN — Tight end/fullback has arguably been Montana State’s most stable position since Brent Vigen took over as head football coach in 2021.
Derryk Snell started in each of the last three seasons, sometimes listed at TE and others at FB. U-back was probably his most accurate classification. Whatever the case, he was an All-American who paved holes for running backs and made plays with the ball in his hands. So did the more traditional TE, all-Big Sky Conference first-teamer Treyton Pickering.

Those two rocks are no longer on the roster. Yet the Bobcats don’t lack talent or experience at TE or FB.
“We lost two guys, but we feel those (current) guys can step up and play and do everything we need them to do,” said MSU offensive coordinator Tyler Walker.
