BILLINGS — Record high temperatures were broken in several places in Montana and Wyoming on Friday due to a strong ridge of high pressure. Although there was a bit more haze and smoke in the air, it wasn’t as severe as in previous weeks. A mostly clear and hazy night with mild lows is expected for the upcoming weekend Saturday morning.
Saturday afternoon will bring another hot day for our region with additional haze and a few more clouds. While highs won’t be as scorching as Friday, we will still be close to breaking a few records. Late Saturday and Sunday will see a change in our weather pattern as the first of several small disturbances moves over the northern Rockies.
We can anticipate a couple of chances for showers and thunderstorms on Sunday as the first disturbance passes over Montana and Wyoming, bringing more seasonable conditions. Monday will have fewer showers but a stronger breeze. Highs will drop into the 70s and 80s for the remainder of next week with scattered showers and thunderstorms.
