Simone Biles has secured her third gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics by dominating the women’s vault final on Saturday.
This achievement now brings Biles’ total Olympic medal count to 10, with seven of them being gold.
Biles played a crucial role in leading the U.S. to victory in the team final and also claimed gold in the women’s gymnastics all-around final.
During the vault final on Saturday, Biles impressed with a score of 15.3, surpassing Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade who took home the silver medal with 14.966 points. Andrade was also the runner-up in the all-around competition, going head-to-head with Biles.
Biles’ teammate, Jade Carey, clinched the bronze medal in the vault final with a score of 14.466.
It is worth noting that Biles had previously won the gold medal for vault at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
