American pommel horse specialist Stephen Nedoroscik secured the bronze medal in the individual event at the Paris Olympics on Saturday.
The U.S. gymnast finished in third place with a score of 15.3.
Just ahead, Kazakhstan’s Nariman Kurbanov claimed the silver medal with 15.433 points, while Ireland’s Rhys McClenaghan took home the gold with 15.533 points.
Nedoroscik has garnered attention at the Olympics, earning the nickname “Clark Kent of pommel horse.” He specializes exclusively in the pommel horse event, representing Team USA in this discipline.
Earlier in the week, Nedoroscik contributed to the U.S. men’s gymnastics team securing their first team medal since 2008. The team won the bronze medal on Monday, finishing behind China and Japan.
Nedoroscik was the sole U.S. male gymnast to qualify for the event finals on Saturday, where he added another medal to his achievements.
These Olympic medals mark the first two for Nedoroscik.
