Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is causing a stir once again, this time by admitting to disposing of a dead bear carcass in New York’s Central Park ten years ago.
In a three-minute video shared on social media, the former environmental lawyer recounts the story to comedian Roseanne Barr about how a 2014 trip in upstate New York resulted in a dead bear in his car and eventually under a bush in the central Manhattan park.
Kennedy explained that while driving to meet a group of people falconing in New York’s Hudson Valley, a woman in front of him accidentally hit and killed a bear cub with her vehicle.
“So, I stopped and picked up the bear, intending to skin it as it was in good condition,” Kennedy said. “I planned to put the meat in my refrigerator, which is allowed in New York with a bear tag for roadkill bears.”

However, the bear never made it back to Kennedy’s home as his day turned into an evening of falconry, followed by a late dinner in the city. With a flight to catch and the bear still in his car, Kennedy had to find a solution for the carcass.
“I didn’t want to leave the bear in the car, so I had an idea,” he confessed. “I had an old bike in my car and decided to place the bear in Central Park to make it look like a bike had hit it.”

The next day, the story of the bear-related bike crash made headlines after being discovered by dog walkers in Central Park. Law enforcement determined the bear had likely been hit by a vehicle outside the park and examined the bicycle for fingerprints.
“I was concerned because my prints were on that bike,” Kennedy admitted with a laugh.
Despite the initial attention, the story faded, and the mystery remained until Kennedy’s recent confession ahead of an expected exposé in The New Yorker magazine.
“Looking forward to seeing how you spin this one, @NewYorker,” Kennedy captioned the video.

As Kennedy’s presidential campaign faces challenges and rumors of dropping out, he remains committed to the race. He addressed reports of considering endorsing former President Trump, emphasizing his determination to win the campaign.
Kennedy’s active presence on social media and campaign events nationwide continues, though national polls show limited support for the independent candidate with the election drawing closer.
