Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is causing a stir once again, this time for confessing to disposing of a dead bear carcass in New York’s Central Park ten years ago.
In a three-minute video shared on social media, Kennedy recounted the story to comedian Roseanne Barr. He explained how a trip to upstate New York in 2014 led to a dead bear in his car and eventually under a bush in Central Park.
Kennedy recalled how he was driving to meet people for falconry in New York’s Hudson Valley when a woman in front of him accidentally hit a bear cub. He decided to take the bear in his van to skin it and store the meat in his refrigerator since it was in good condition and could be legally processed in New York.
However, the bear never made it home. Kennedy ended up having dinner in the city with the bear still in his car as he was in a rush to catch a flight after a long day of falconry. To avoid leaving the bear in the car, Kennedy and his companions came up with the idea to place the bear under a bush in Central Park to make it look like it had been hit by a bike.
The story made national headlines the next day after the bear was discovered by dog walkers, leading to a brief investigation by law enforcement.
Kennedy shared that he decided to come clean about the incident ahead of an upcoming exposé in The New Yorker magazine. The magazine published the article featuring the bear story and a photo of Kennedy with the bear’s mouth.
Despite rumors of him dropping out of the race and endorsing former President Trump, Kennedy affirmed his commitment to his presidential campaign in a recent interview.
While Kennedy continues to campaign actively and engage with supporters on social media, he still struggles to gain substantial support in national polls with the election approaching.
