Packers QB Jordan Love to start preseason opener vs. Browns

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is set to start the team’s preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns this Saturday, as announced by coach Matt LaFleur. LaFleur emphasized the value of preparing mentally for a football game. The team has a plan for Love’s playing time in the preseason, but it may be adjusted as needed. Love recently signed a lucrative contract extension worth $220 million over four years, with $160.3 million guaranteed and a $75 million signing bonus. His base salary for the 2024 season will be $10.5 million. Love has limited career starts, taking over from Aaron Rodgers after making 18 regular-season starts. He showed promise in the second half of last season, throwing 16 touchdowns with only one interception in the final eight games.
