Epik High, South Korea’s most renowned hip-hop group, has been making influential music for over 20 years. Known for their clever lyrics that address sociopolitical issues with witty humor, the trio excels in live performances. Currently on a world tour to promote their critically acclaimed mixtape “PUMP,” the group’s members Tablo, Mithra Jin, and DJ Tukutz showcase their talents on stage. Tablo mentioned, “At the moment, we’re wrapping up four shows in Australia and heading to the United States and Canada for a 23-city tour.” Their North America tour includes performances in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago.
During their tour, Epik High explores new cities and venues, connecting with fans in a unique way. Tablo added, “For the North America leg this year, we’re going to Tempe, Kansas City, and Tampa for the first time.”
The group’s creativity knows no bounds, with Tablo sharing, “Creativity by nature is always ‘on the road.’ I wrote my verse for our new single “ANTIHERO” in the green room during a guest appearance at Psy’s concert. I wrote “OK GOOD” in a hotel room in Tokyo.” Tukutz also mentioned, “The beat for “Down Bad Freestyle” was actually sketched during a previous North American tour.” The group dedicates themselves to maintaining their health on tour, with Tukutz emphasizing the importance of fitness facilities at their hotels.
Epik High finds inspiration in unexpected places, with Tablo revealing, “Uber rides are underrated sources of inspiration. A complete stranger’s playlist sometimes sparks something unexpected.” When it comes to food while traveling, Mithra and Tukutz rely on local recommendations for a memorable culinary experience.
Reflecting on their travels over the years, the group shares their favorite destinations and memorable trips. From seeking tranquility in Hawaii to exploring new cities like Shanghai and Las Vegas, Epik High members have diverse preferences when it comes to vacation spots.
As they continue to tour the world and connect with fans, Epik High remains dedicated to creating innovative music and engaging experiences for their audience.
