Four individuals have been arrested by Los Angeles investigators in connection with the shooting death of actor Johnny Wactor from “General Hospital.” Nearly three months after the 37-year-old actor was killed, the Los Angeles Police Department announced that its Central Bureau Homicide unit executed search warrants at various locations in Los Angeles, resulting in the recovery of evidence and the arrests of the four suspects.
According to the LAPD, three 18-year-old suspects named Robert Barceleau, Leonel Gutierrez, and Sergio Estrada were booked on murder charges, while a 22-year-old named Frank Olano was booked on an accessory to murder charge. Each suspect, all residents of Los Angeles County, is currently held on $2 million bail, as per jail records.
Johnny Wactor was tragically killed on May 25, shortly after finishing a bartending shift in downtown Los Angeles. Witnesses reported that he was shot in the chest by one of the suspects while trying to prevent the theft of his car’s catalytic converter. Despite being rushed to a hospital, Wactor succumbed to his injuries.
Since his untimely death, a GoFundMe campaign set up for his mother has raised over $144,000. The funds are intended to support the ongoing investigation and eventually establish a foundation in Wactor’s name to aid other victims and advocate for stronger public safety legislation.
Following the arrests, the GoFundMe page remarked on the progress made in seeking justice for Johnny Wactor and praised his mother for her unwavering determination in pursuing justice.
Johnny Wactor’s acting career included roles in various TV shows and video games, with his most notable role being Brando Corbin on “General Hospital.” Colleagues from the soap opera paid tribute to him, describing Wactor as a unique talent with a kind heart that brought joy to those around him.
