Vice President Kamala Harris surprised attendees at the Democratic National Convention on Monday night, where she expressed gratitude towards President Biden for his leadership and briefly addressed the crowd.
“I want to start by recognizing our amazing president, Joe Biden, who will be speaking later this evening,” Harris stated. “Joe, thank you for your remarkable leadership, your lifetime of service to our country, and all that you will continue to do — we are eternally grateful to you.”
“This November, we will unite and proclaim with one voice, as one nation, that we are progressing forward,” Harris remarked, echoing a sentiment from her campaign.
Harris is set to join President Biden on stage following his speech on Monday night. She is scheduled to deliver her own acceptance speech for the DNC’s nomination on Thursday night.
Before that, Harris will be in Wisconsin on Tuesday, a key battleground state, where she will energize supporters and host a DNC watch party.
