Vice President Kamala Harris surprised attendees at the Democratic National Convention on Monday night. She expressed gratitude towards President Biden for his leadership and briefly addressed the crowd.
“I want to start by acknowledging our remarkable president, Joe Biden, who will be speaking later tonight,” Harris stated. “Joe, thank you for your historic leadership, your lifelong dedication to our nation, and all that you will continue to accomplish – we are eternally thankful.”
“This November, we will unite and proclaim together, with one voice, as one united people, that we are progressing forward,” Harris proclaimed, echoing a theme of her campaign.
Harris is slated to share the stage with President Biden following his speech on Monday night. She is scheduled to deliver her own speech accepting the DNC’s nomination on Thursday night.
Prior to that, Harris is anticipated to visit the battleground state of Wisconsin on Tuesday, where she will energize supporters and host a DNC viewing event.
