Kevin Munoz, senior spokesperson for the Harris-Walz campaign, described the energy at the convention as akin to that on the campaign trail. “This is a coalition that is excited, mobilized, and ready to win this race,” he remarked. “We’re having fun and that is the enthusiasm that you just can’t make up.”

This convention has defied expectations set at the start of the summer when President Joe Biden was the presumptive nominee. His withdrawal from the race caused a shake-up in various aspects, from poll numbers to on-the-ground enthusiasm.
President Biden was warmly received with chants of “Thank you, Joe” on the opening night of the convention. Munoz reiterated those sentiments on Tuesday, saying, “He is the guy that saved democracy again by ensuring that Kamala Harris is in a position to win this November.”
